The publication of a working document on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2013, written by Scottish MEP George Lyon for the EU’s Agriculture Committee suggests farmers should be incentivised – technically and financially – to mitigate the impacts of Climate Change by reducing their GHG emissions, improving carbon soil sequestration, using more renewable energy sources and exploiting the potential of biomass and biowaste for energy production
